The Beaches of Atlantis

The Beaches of Atlantis

Pristine turquoise water splashing on your toes, soft sand beneath your feet, the glistening sun tickling your skin; this is truly paradise. Every beach at Atlantis is remarkable, so you can't go wrong. I recommend checking them all out, but either way, here's a brief breakdown of what to expect.

Atlantis Beach

Atlantis Beach is actually a public beach, so anyone is allowed on it, even guests not staying at the hotel. I don't think people realize that though, so this is something to keep in mind if you are wandering away from your belongings. For this reason, on this beach you will find the locals braiding hair and selling coconut hats and other knick-knacks. (You won't find these vendors on the other beaches.)

It is by far the largest beach and has the roughest waves. That being said, they really aren't rough, just enough for your kiddos to have a good time when they wash them onto the shore.

This is the beach we spent the most amount of time on. It's just a fun beach. It's like it was made to build a sandcastle on.

Lagoon Beach

This beach is located inside the facility, so it isn't actually connected to the ocean. We went to this beach once. We didn't enjoy it as much as the others, and therefore didn't see any reason to waste time here. It wasn't as pristine as the others, which is surprising because Atlantis does an amazing job of updating everything at their resort to a constant "like-new" status.

However, as far as safety goes, this beach is ideal. There aren't any waves. Plus, there are lifeguards on duty and everything is roped off so your kiddos can't wander out too far.

Cove Beach

This is a little far from the main part of the hotel, so we didn't visit it as often, but it was our favorite beach. It is less crowded than Atlantis Beach and the ocean is far calmer. There is also a restaurant there, because at Atlantis, you are never far from food or daiquris.

Paradise Beach

Paradise Beach is reserved for guests of the Reef. Being as can't afford to wine and dine with the rich and famous, I have no idea how it was. If it is any comparison to the other beaches though, I'm sure it was awesome!

When it comes to beaches, I only care about two things, is the water clear, is the sand clean. All the beaches at Atlantis offer both of these, so you can't wrong. Now come on, what are you reading this for? Go feel that sand between your toes and explore LIFE!
