Assemble Your Lemonade Stand
I don't have a lot to say, I think the topic is pretty much self-explanatory. Not that that has ever stopped me before.
Our stand was pre-fabricated at Sam's Club, but you can make building your own part of the fun. We just aren't that handy.
Caden is a frequent patient to Cook's because of some medical issues he has. Therefore, when we asked the kids what charity they wanted to donate to, this was the first off their lips.
We sold lemonade for five hours and raised $30. Now, that might not seem like a lot to you or me, but to a four-year-old, that is a fortune. They were so proud of the money they had raised and so excited to donate it.
Cook's Children's was amazing too. Though it was a small amount, they didn't treat it as such. They offered the children a lot of accolades for their hard work and even sent an appreciatory letter in the mail.
It seems that there are so few places for young children to volunteer, yet it is such an important trait to instill in them from a young age. "Hey, this is what this family does together, we work together to make the world a better place and help others."
What will your kids remember doing with you? Grab a kid, grab some lemonade, and explore LIFE.
